Our Academy opened in September 2006 and serves the area of East Leeds.We are part of the government’s original Academies programme, working within a network of high-performing Specialist Schools and Academies nationally. Our building is a state of the art 21st Century Academy with students and staff working in an ICT rich environment. OFSTED visits in May 2012 (section 5 and section 48) reported the Academy to be 'Good' and 'Outstanding' respectively. DYCA recognised for support to reservists

DAVID YOUNG COMMUNITY ACADEMY OF SEACROFT RECOGNISED FOR SUPPORT TO RESERVISTS David Young Community Academy has been recognised for its continuing commitment and dedication to the region's Reserve Forces by being presented with a special certificate after reaffirming their support, one of only 80 presented each year.  Signed by the Chief of the Defence staff and the Secretary of State for Defence, the certificate was presented by the Yorkshire and Humber Regional SaBRE Campaign Director Richard Lenton on 8th October 2012. When it was announced that Nicola Adams was coming into DYCA all of the school was hoping to be able to attend her assembly. I was specially selected with Holly Carr to attend a brief ‘meet and greet session’ in the board room with Nicola before the assembly began. We attract a lot of attention nationally and internationally and host visitors on a very regular basis, as a key part of our role is to model innovative practice. Learning in the Academy is highly personalised with a 2 year Key Stage Three and a 3 year Key Stage Four.

 DYCA is not an ordinary school. It is a unique environment with exceptional staff and students undertaking transformational work.
