The Post 16 dress code
This involves wearing business style clothing. DYCA’s high expectations are reflected in its dress code.
Students are expected to dress in a style that would be suitable in a professional office environment.
This enables students to be smart in appearance without having to conform to a uniform. Business
style dress should not be expensive to buy.
Dress Code
Jackets for male students are worn with collar and tie and shirt or blouse with jacket for female students.
Jewellery and make-up should be modest and sensible additions to dress.
Colour schemes are at the discretion of individual students but it is expected that a sensible approach will be adopted.
Jeans, leisure wear and trainers are not permitted.
What is EMA?
Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is a weekly payment of £10, £20 or £30 for eligible students aged 16+ and continuing in further education.
Students may also receive bonuses of £100 if they remain on their course and make good progress with their learning.
Payments will be made direct to your bank account so students will need to open a bank account before they apply for EMA.
Who will be entitled to an EMA?
New students could receive EMA if:
They became 17 or 18 years old during the academic year 2007/8
Their household income is £30,000 or less – parents or carers should advise on this
They are continuing in further education in sixth form schools and colleges and FE colleges | |
