Mathematics

Which ever way you look at it, Maths is a crucial subject. It is a language that everyone can understand and has been used across the Earth for millions of years. Maths is a subject that hasn’t been invented – people have discovered how to use numbers and discoveries in Maths are being made all the time.

So why is it compulsory to study Maths?

  1. Maths is EXCITING (no explanation needed!)
  2. Maths can help you EARN MORE MONEY - businesses will pay good salaries to people who have studied Maths. This is not just in jobs that are based around Maths, like Accountancy. Employers need people who can think logically and solve problems; Maths helps us to do this
  3. Maths makes everything else look EASY – Maths can be challenging. Einstein said “Do not worry about your difficulties in Mathematics; I can assure you that mine are greater still”. A subject that can even make Einstein think must be one that is worth studying!
  4. Maths helps you think LOGICALLY – it develops a part of the brain that helps you reason through problems. This will not only help you to solve Mathematical problems, but also arrive at solutions in other situations
At DYCA you have the opportunity to study Maths with excellent maths teachers and we aim to make Maths an enjoyable subject as well as showing you how it can be linked to situations in everyday life. Just remember – Maths is a skill; it takes practice and confidence in order to succeed. We are always here to help – just ask.
