Key stage four begins in year 9, we have three different pathways for our students to follow:
Route 1
GCSE Science syllabus Edexcel + GCSE Additional science + separate sciences

Route 2
OCR Nationals in science, students have the opportunity to achieve the certificate worth 2 GCSE equivalents or the diploma worth 4 GCSE equivalents. It is possible for students to begin post 16 modules in year 11 if they follow the accelerated route completing the Nationals qualifications in year 10.

Route 3
Students will study either the GCSE Science syllabus with edexcel or the OCR national certificate.
Extra Curricular Activities
- This year we ran a very successful chemistry week in November
- Every Tuesday there is a science extravaganza club showcasing the most exciting science experiments that staff enjoy!
- We are fielding a team at the salter’s festival of chemistry event at Leeds University
- Our year 11 students took part in the Aim higher reach for A* workshops over the Easter holidays
- We have attended the NHS Careers day twice this year at St James’s hospital, Leeds
- A full programme of support is available to our key stage 4 students for revision and exam preparation hosted by subject specialists
